Makes me want to write a pirate story. Seriously! Except..., though I enjoy reading or watching a good pirate talenow and then, I'm no good at writing them or even imagining one. No experiences to draw on, other than a bit of speed boating and water skiing as a kid on local rivers and lakes, sans any pirates, not even one Johnny Depp (dangit!).

Thanks! Believe it or not, it's actually the standard kit lens for a Canon 350D. There seems to be a sweet spot on the lens where pics are really sharp.

Yeah that's what I have been discovering lately. Each and every lens has it weaknesses and strengths and you use them accordingly.
