Description
So I've been wanting to keep myself busy/distraced recently so when I saw this meme www.deviantart.com/topcatmeece… by and had to fill it in! (I am also working on the Disney one but need to revisit some of the films)
I didn't want to have any blank boxes or repeat characters though there's definetly a few I could have done both.
Now onto the list
Toy Story: Slinky - Whilst Woody and Buzz are great, they were never my fave. I always had a soft spot for Slinky. I'm not sure if it's because he's a dachshund or his loyalty to Woody or his old wise man personality but I've just always loved Slinky. Honourable mentions to the Aliens, Rex, Hamm, Weezy and RC.
Bugs Life: Dot - Dot is small and cute but also small and mighty! She gets picked on because of her small size but she doesn't let that stop her! She has a big heart, is the first to support Flik and goes out of her way to help him, despite her small size which shows her big heart and bravery!
Toy Story 2: Bullseye - Bullseye doesn't speak but he reminds me of Slinky in many ways. Like Slinky he is very much a loyal puppy dog (despite the fact he's a horse) and he's just downright adorable.
Monsters Inc: Sulley - Sulley is a good-natured, hard-working, gentle giant and is one of my favourite disney characters of all time so this was obvious! I love his design, his colour palette and his relationship with Boo - it reminds me of mine with my dad and for that Sulley will forever be sentimental! <3
Finding Nemo: Dory - There's so many great characters in Finding Nemo - like Nemo, the tank gang, Squirt but it's Dory that really shines in Finding Nemo. Despite her short term memory loss, she's incredibly upbeat and manages to pull it out the bag when it really matters! Her optimism is what leads them on their adventures!
Incredibles: Violet - I'm not a big Incredibles fan... AT ALL but I always liked how shy and socially awkward Violet was. That goes hand in hand with her Invisibility and she just feels really relatable.
Cars: Sally - I debated on this one for a while as much like Toy Story I'm more intrested in the Radiator Springs characters than Lightning himself. I considered Ramone, Guido and Luigi as I do like them but ultimately went with Sally as she plays a slightly bigger role so we know her a little better. She's charming, intelligent, and witty. She's had her 'life in the fast lane' and is now set on restoring a quiet town. She's really likable and she's definetly got a backstory that could have been exploring!
Ratatouille: Remy - I really like the message 'Anyone can cook' and to really drive it home we have a rat doing the cooking! Remy is modest and has an incredible sense of smell and ofcourse is a very talented chef!
Wall-E: Wall-E and Eve - I was trying my best to keep to one character and I was doing do well.... but I cannot seperate Wall-E and Eve. There complete opposites in everyway (Rustic vs modern, Curious vs Hostile) but they bring out the best in each other and really work best as a team!
Up: Dug - Dug is the best boy! "I have just met you and I love you" What else is there to say? He's one big ball of floof and a lovable puppy dog! Dug is the best and says exactly what you'd expect a talking dog to say!
Toy Story 3: Lotso - It's everyone's favourite strawberry-scented bear! Pixars first? twist villian! He has this grandfatherly charm to him and is exactly what you'd expect from a teddy bear! That is... until it's revealed to all be a facade! He's ruthless and cunning but who doesn't love a good villian? I do wish he got a redemption arc as he was previously shown to be a good well-loved toy and only turned evil when he was accidently abandoned and subsequently replaced. This 'betrayal' sent him down a dark path but could have quite of easily opened up a redemption arc.
Cars 2: Holly Shiftwell - I hate this movie. I actually fell asleep watching this one. I like Mater but him as a lead just didn't work and the spy story did absolutely nothing for me, that said I do think Holley Shiftwell was a good addition. It's a shame she didn't get a bigger part to play / a better movie / another appearance - especially as she ends the movie as Maters girlfriend!
Brave: Harris, Hubert and Hamish (Triplets) - I could have easily just said Merida but I find the cheeky mischivious antics (especially for a tasty treat) of her brothers adorable. They remind me a bit of Lock. Shock and Barrel from Nightmare before Christmas but the main reason there here is because there even cuter in bear form!
Monsters University: Art - I could have easily said Sulley once again but I really enjoyed Art. This mysterious fluffy oddball. He seems to have many intrests and many emotions yet no one seems to know anything about him.
Inside Out: Bing Bong - Even before Bing Bong made that sacrifice, I really enjoyed his character. He is exactly what you'd expect from an imaginary friend - made up of all these different parts that children love and a fierce loyalty to Riley even though she's forgotten him.
The Good Dinosaur: Spot - The fact that Spot is the only human character in this movie that acts more like a wild animal than a human as he has been forced to become a survilist to survive (despite his young age), was really quite a clever idea. It's a shame this movie isn't better as the scenary is stunning!
Finding Dory: Destiny - I think Destiny is such a fun character and I love that she is a clumsy swimmer with poor eyesight despite being a whale shark! She has such a big personality and a big heart and ofcourse there's some sass in there too!
Cars 3: Cruz Ramirez - Optimistic and Sunny. Cruz' excitement is infectious. She goes on quite a journey starting out as as Lighnings trainer but eventually getting the chance to live out her forgotten dream of actually being the racer!
Coco: Imelda and Hector - This was a hard one because I love Coco and Imelda and Hector are definetly my favourite Rivera's but I also really love Dante and Pepita so any 4 of them could have taken this spot!
Incredibles 2: Jack-Jack - Jack-Jack just stole the show with his many powers that he can't control.
Toy Story 4: Bo Peep - I always liked Bo Peep but she only ever had a minor role and whilst I do not enjoy Toy Story 4 (It wasn't needed and I don't like the direction they took it in), I did love how they updated and improved Bo Peeps character.
Onward: Ian - Honestly I didn't really enjoy Onward so this was a difficult one to answer. Thought about letting Ian and Barley share the spot or even giving it to their dragon Blazey!
Soul: 22 - Same as Onward, I didn't really enjoy Soul. Was going to put Mr. Mittens here honestly but I do like 22's character.
Luca: Machiavelli - Honestly Guilia, Massimo and Machiavelli all qualify here but Machiavelli just stole the show popping up everywhere and just judging!
Turning Red: Abby and Priya - Whilst I do love Mei in Red Panda form, As a character I definitely prefer Abby and Priya. Abby is just a ball of chaotic energy and Priya is the total opposite with her completely chill personality and dead pan expressions! I couldn't decide between them.
Lightyear: Sox - The adorable robot cat stole the show! Much like a real cat but with all the tech one could ever need, and a loyalty to Buzz!
Elemental: Ember - I really could have put Ember AND Wade in this box.
Inside Out 2: Envy - Obviously this isn't out yet so I'm judging it based off the trailer alone but I just know I'm going to love Envy. She's so small and cute... and envious! Adorable!
