Description Many of you who have visited my gallery may recognize this fellow as my avatar. I suppose I got this idea after watching One Piece where each pirate crew runs on a certain theme (as evident in their flags). As an artist, I might have this as my flag if I were a pirate. I've done other versions of this piece, but in different colors.

A worthy avatar, enjoyed it very much. But from afar it would be difficult to recocknise the paintbrushes, and for my unqualified opinion, the rigth side of the chin-cheekbone-part of the skull is to dark. Maybe it would be improofed, when you flatten the crossing and place the chin above... just my 2 cents of thougth, as sayed, liked it allready...

First off, your opinion is indeed qualified. Constructive criticism is always welcome here. That's how we learn so that we may improve our craft.

Upon closer look, I do see your points. I initially was going to make both the skull and brushes solid white (in the style of the flags seen in One Piece), but it just didn't look right to me and it just didn't seem like my own work. As for the paintbrushes, I didn't mind so much if they were unrecognizable as long as it helps the overall design come together.

I agree, solid white can't be the solution in this case. I hope I will cam forth with an scetch any time soon. May it will explain my approach better. So long, sharpen my pencils.

Seems we both have a similar idea I like how the skull has a lot of detail and is in essence realistic. I'll definetly have to credit you and this as one of the inspirations for a design I'm working on (found this while googling for 'pirate flag')
