How can we change the color of the finder windows from the default (gray-white) into a dark one in OSX Mavericks 10.9.1? Thanks! Btw could someone tell me the path to the files of the finder windows images? Thanks!

It would be great if you could also port this to Flavours, new theming engine that works Lion-Mavericks... it's a paid software, but imho simplifies theming to a great extent.

I accidentally installed this on Macericks, and now the buttons are either not showing up or they have a "GUI??" Background. The uninstalled isn't working, so I was wondering if there was any way to fix this. Thanks in advance.

Gpopper In reply to MCsqu4red [2013-11-06 15:20:24 +0000 UTC]

Open Go menu in the Finder. (Command + Shift + G)

Paste the following path in the dialog. ---> /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreUI.framework/Versions/A/Resources

Copy this  [Mavericks original file] after moving a SArtfile.bin and ArtFile.bin to a trash.

and Log out.

In next update, please consider changing Apple logo in black menubar to flat design (remove color gradient) like the hover version. Thanks!

please do, i am also super excited about using this on mavericks, it looks really awesome!

btw the side dock on mavericks is absolutely hideous, would there still be any chance to theme it? i've heard people saying it's now rendered by code rather than images.

Is it possible to use only the graphite traffic lights? I want to use the graphite ones provided in Grain of OS X but want to keep the rest of the system graphics the default Blue/Aqua appearance. So far using only the graphite traffic lights is only possible  when switching the entire system to graphite... Hope you can help.

Great skin/theme by the way. Great talented work that you've done here.

Gpopper In reply to Suicid3BunnY [2013-10-16 12:59:47 +0000 UTC]

Tried the previous Installer? [Graphite traffic lights only]  ArtFile.bin are the same.

Suicid3BunnY In reply to Gpopper [2013-10-16 16:47:25 +0000 UTC]

Oh and on that note, you don't maybe know of a website where instructions are given on how to access the ArtFile.bin and SArtFile's so that I can also change graphics? IF not, it's not a big deal.

Suicid3BunnY In reply to Gpopper [2013-10-16 16:44:27 +0000 UTC]

That installer doesn't work. As soon as I try to launch it gives an error saying not all requirements were met. I think I did try it a while back but had to change the entire system to graphite before the traffic lights were graphite. Otherwise if I want to keep the original blue theme( default apple ) the traffic lights were the red, yellow and green ones that came with grain of OS X.

Not a big issue I can always adapt to a graphite system graphics. Grain of OS X will make that easy for me Thanks anyways for the reply and help.

Where did the name come from?

Gpopper In reply to satuim [2013-10-10 15:59:14 +0000 UTC]

From the implication of sand particles, and one grain. Because these are small elements of OSX.

Well with your style I can see shading and a sudden line at the end. (See Graphite, Gray and Blue on your preview)

It doesn't hurt to test a bit
