Paint Tool SAI Speedpaint, 45 minutesIn the bush near Talahon of the land called Hitonu lies an imposing shrine. To the humans, it's just an awkward, ancient thing to encounter.
To the shape-shifters, however, this is the only way back home.
Unknown to most humans the shine is a portal, a portal that is made of stone.
Should one with the proper gemstone touch the shrine, they would have access to the worlds beyond.

All the portals in my story are made of stone. :> They're all accessible only if you have a gemstone which was obtained from the area they wish to go to.
The portal 'reads' the gemstones place of origin~
Shape-shifters going to the human world should always be careful not to loose a gem from their homeland. Should they wish to come back, they will need it.
If they loose the gem they'll have to go through a cruel process of finding a new one~
