Back again, with another member of my favorite family, Kara. The main aim with this piece was to bring back an element of Supermans (and by extension Supergirls) costume that has been sadly missing in the mainstream media interpretations of these characters since the 90's. I speak of course, of that famous "S" shield on the cape. A beautiful design element, breaking up the monotony of the cape, while adding an almost regal element to the uniform. These are the only characters to ever show that particular design choice, and it's just a crying shame that it's been dropped in the movies. I can forgive the animated versions omitting it (it's a bugger to paint, let alone animate), but in this age of cgi and massive budgets, Snyder has no excuse. Also a fan of the blue neckline showing from behind the edges of the cape. What can I say? I'm old-school.
