To help out a few fellow artists, I've posted of a quick guide as to how to draw different hairstyles and how they sit on the head (not necessarily human). For anthropomorphised characters ears sometimes need to taken into account (ie. cats).

I'm sure some of the hair-dressers/strylists amongst you can think of the correct names for these designs, but for convenience sake I've used names for them. Hope it helps.
