The fact that his eyes are capable of looking dead and pointing in different directions. Mind you, pugs (the small dogs) do this too.

yeah i love the way pugs have bulging eyes as if their brains are so swollen their eyes dont fit in their sockets and the bug eyed expression of bugs is similar. These types of eyes are great because you never know what the characters thinking and it adds a sense of mystery about them.
