Beautiful work, it's very haunting, sad, and oddly comforting. I love the paint splatters, it adds a little something to the piece. Definitely going in my favorites!!

I really fucking hate it when artists write "..." in the description. YOU'RE NOT DEEP.
π: 0 β©: 2
Flatt-Lined In reply to Daruqe [2013-09-12 02:55:16 +0000 UTC]
You're assuming what they are trying to say, or rather, not say. Just because someone puts, "..." in a comment doesn't mean they're acting deep; sometimes it doesn't mean anything. It could mean they don't want to write anything or they have nothing to say. I for one hate righting descriptions, I see it as a waste of my time. I like my work, but I don't always have something to say about it.
Looking at it through a more analytical way, maybe the artist did so, so viewers could have a more open view of the artwork. An artist can draw a bunny and say it's a bunny, and most readers will see the bunny. If an artist draws a bunny, but doesn't say it's bunny, they leave the viewer to determine what it is and the meaning behind it.

Do YOU know what she intended?
π: 0 β©: 1
Flatt-Lined In reply to Daruqe [2013-09-12 20:48:15 +0000 UTC]
No, and I never said that I did, nor do I intend to. My point wasn't that you were incorrect about your theory and it wasn't that I knew what she intended. My point was that you shouldn't get angry on the grounds of a mere assumption.

Daruqe In reply to Flatt-Lined [2013-09-12 22:48:59 +0000 UTC]
I think it's a pretty well-grounded assumption. Especially when you're the one defending her instead of the artist herself.

Flatt-Lined In reply to Daruqe [2013-09-13 00:51:22 +0000 UTC]
Β I disagree with it being well-grounded due to the lack of solid evidence and, well-grounded or not, an assumption is still and assumption; a theory. Also, why would her not "defending" herself prove that she was trying to be "deep". Again another assumption with no valid evidence. You ever think that maybe she, like many others artists, gets tons of comments like yours or ones that are offensive or rude? Some see it best to let it alone because it's not worth the time. Sometimes, the best way to defend yourself is by simply remaining out of the conversation. I have no proof this is what's going on, but you have no proof either. Neither of us will get anywhere while carrying along valid information unless the artist intervenes.
The moral I'm getting at is to obtain and retain an open mind and not play around on assumptions. I looked at this through your view of her comment and all I thought was "maybe she did mean it like that" but "maybe she didn't" was the next thing that popped up in my mind. The fact is we will not know unless she conveys her thoughts.

Right, I'm pissed of that she doesn't convey her thoughts, ON PURPOSE, because that's what artsy people do.

You have either missed my point twice now or are refusing to acknowledge it, and I am not longer going to repeat myself. This conversation is now at a close. Thank you for the debate, it was fun while it lasted.
