BTW, a "parish" (as you spelled it) is a Church. "Perish," on the other hand, means to die. I think that was the word you were searching for, you fucking idiot.

I like this poem. I like the simplicity; however, I believe it has so much more potential. Poetry is usually concise, which you have mastered well for this piece. Poetry is imaginative, not a factual report. Words in poetry are chosen and arranged very carefully. I think you could have chosen your words better--consult a thesauras. Remember to think hard about why you chose the particular words that you did. I think certain words may flow together better in the poem, and certain sounds may evoke a particular emotion. Speaking of emotions, a poem should elicit an emotional response. Anyone can put lines together on a page, but few people can elicit an emotional response from a stranger. Lastly, the flow and music of lines and sentences are what makes a poem a poem. This poem has wonderful potential. I look forward to seeing it be revised
