Ah, I've watched that tutorial, but he did the rendering in Maya , and the hair too.
His piece inspired me as well, but our technique're different, I used entirely Zbrush on this artworks

Oh sorry, i forgot to mention, yes it is all done in zbrush with different passes and final composite in photoshop
