Description A bit of shameless promotion: a stamp meant to help advertise the Cetus Sea boards. We're a small forum, but with one big difference from most other cetacean-oriented communities I've seen: we have a cetacean roleplay section.

Credit for this idea goes to . Feel free to use this as you want.

Thank you.

Not as fluid as some animations I've seen. But for ten frames, after four hours' work, I'd say it was worth it.

I've been looking for a good orca RolePlay forum, most of the ones I've been to aren't ancive anymore so I'll definitely check this one out

Thanks.

I seem to recall you having mentioned this lack of finding an orca RP forum to me once before, too.

Yep, I did do so a while back. I'll certainly check this one out as soon as I can.

You can always comment for others to reply to at another time. That's the beauty of forums - the not-so-instant form of communication.

Welcome. <3

by the way, Iยดve got one more gift in my maps right now, but is it ok if I make christmas gift too? Or is that too much? :3

grayorca In reply to Zavraan [2012-12-04 20:32:36 +0000 UTC]

I'm afraid I don't understand. The structure of this question is a little off. Do you mean you want to make two gifts, and you typed "maps" instead of "mind"?

Zavraan In reply to grayorca [2012-12-04 20:35:39 +0000 UTC]

I have another gift in my documents. Which I said as maps. XD

Wow, this is very well done. You did an amazing job with this, Orkid. ^^
I checked out the site - as an orca and cetacean enthusiast myself, I found it quite appealing; I think I might just join sometime soon. :] Keep up the epic work!

Thank you, Azure. I shall try.

As for the forums, we appreciate the visit, and would welcome you in the event you do decide to join. Though CS has only been actively running since April of this year, I intend to keep it open for as long as time and circumstances allow.

You're most welcome.

It's wonderful to know that you intend to maintain the forums for as long as possible - I took a look around, and, I must say, I am impressed. The community appears to be quite inviting, not to mention fairly large. ^^ I really am contemplating joining, and I believe it would be a privilege to do so.

grayorca In reply to TheAzureRaptor [2012-12-04 20:47:44 +0000 UTC]

Thank you.

Overall, I like to think it's a pretty relaxing place to be. As the disclaimer says, it's not a cetacean forum that's hung up on the captivity debate, or the plights these creatures face in real life. While I would never dismiss these issues as unimportant, as I said, they're not primarily what CS is about. I've been a member of several different cetacean related forums that have come and gone since 2004, and CS' framework is actually the revamped skeleton that used to be my old website's inactive forums. It's why my admin account lists me as having been registered since December '05.

All things considered, we're pretty small, at only around 40 members, about 15 of which are regularly active. Even so, prodigious growth in a short amount of time isn't something we've necessarily wanted. Our thinking is, those looking for a quaint little cetacean forum to join will eventually find their way to us.

TheAzureRaptor In reply to grayorca [2012-12-04 20:58:52 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome.

I suppose a relatively tight-knit community (as opposed to a ridiculously large one) is more conducive to a relaxing atmosphere. ^^ And I can understand; I, myself, am a staunch advocate of animal rights, especially with regards to cetaceans, but there are many other (more positive) facets of these amazing creatures that one can focus on. I will admit that the roleplaying section of the forum caught my eye - I was once a regular RPer, and it's great to see one dedicated to cetaceans.

grayorca In reply to TheAzureRaptor [2012-12-04 21:21:07 +0000 UTC]

The flip side of that coin is that, to some, it may seem - at first brush - that we are an exclusive forum made up of a few friends. To some extent, this is true, but we're not of an invite-only mentality. We're always receptive to anyone who may have an interest in joining.

Yes, I try not to boast about much when it comes to CS, but the RP section is exempt from this personal rule. Most other cetacean forums I've breezed through nowadays don't have one. The first cetacean forum I ever joined had one, and in recent years, they seem to have kinda died out as that "generation" grew up and went on to other things. So, after some friendly insistence from AnoOrca, I thought it was worth taking a chance to open such an area and see who might show up.

Thank you.

Actually, non-premuim members can use stamps. Just not in the descriptions of their deviations. Thumbnail codes work in such places as the ID section, and in journal entries, I believe.
