Description Yes, so I skipped a few stages before debuting a fully-grown xenorca. But once this outline began, I couldn't stop myself from completing it. I can be as impatient as anyone else.

Those hoping for a better look at a xenorca, by capturing and placing one in a tank, got a little more than they bargained for when she charged headlong into the glass. Now who has the guts to try fixing/fortifying that before it gives?

EDIT: added some shading and a few minor water trickles to the crack

Wow! So amazing!! I love these guys! Amazing work on her design and the cracking glass

Thank you!

But to be honest, I'm simply happy this turned out half as good as it did. She is, by far, the most complicated thing I have colored to date.

If this were the SCP Foundation they'd just send some Class-D personnel in to do it

Either that, or drain the tank to a point well below the bottom of the window to work on it unhindered.

Exactly, even in shallow water.

Reminds me of Deep Blue Sea when the sharks intentionally flooded the place.

Xenos would probably attempt the same, the same way they overran the Auriga in "Alien: Resurrection".

I think I spotted Shouka on the webcam I'm pretty sure I see Ulises. He has a collapsed dorsal fin, right? It's hard with such a low res.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

grayorca In reply to BladedMako [2012-10-30 18:43:55 +0000 UTC]

Ulises' fin is only about halfway collapsed. Keet's is the one that is completely flopped over.

I know, and it's been that quality for years. They really need to install a newer one.

Okay, I was right the first time. That's Keet I'm seeing.

I'm guessing Shouka is the one acting silly

*watching and lolling* Omg this is... *Uplink Los* WHY?!!!

[link] Ok, that's it, I'm flying over there and giving her a hug! I just can't take the cuteness anymore!!! Next time I go to any aquarium I am bringing a plush with me (as well as my Ipad - I want to see what happens when I use the forward-facing camera and put it up against the glass. Especially if I use silly Photobooth effects.)

Ok, yesterday I was seeing Keet, Corky, and Ikaika. Ikaika must have been the one being all silly. Funny thing; when the camera loaded they were all swimming upside down. I was like "What the...LOLZ!" I'll bet it was Ikaika who started that game.

grayorca In reply to BladedMako [2012-10-31 15:47:37 +0000 UTC]

They actually swim upside down fairly often. Corky is probably the best known for it. Some think that's how she's managed to 'keep' her dorsal fin straight - by spending much of her spare time inverted.

BladedMako In reply to grayorca [2012-10-31 18:20:00 +0000 UTC]

I figured out how to tell them apart. Ikaika's saddle patch is paler then Corky's and Keet's is collapsed.

Some parks have pretty large collections of smaller cetaceans. Just look at the number of belugas Marineland Ontario has.

So Corky is the one that keeps going upside-down, Ikaika is the silly, hyperactive one, and Keet is laid-back?

There was a book I read called Meg.. It's about a scientist finding a megalaodon in the Marianas trench.. In that book it describes how she broke the glass, but to hell if anyone wanted to fix it... haha.

I have this book, actually. Never got around to reading it, though, as there's a whole slew of books that follow that I've not yet been able to find. "Jaws 3" was what I had in mind in including the cracked-window idea.

Very nicely done and don't worry I am just impatient as you though if it takes to long or too complicated I tend to trash it. I start over probably 4 times a day I do love the broken glass effect, I feel sorry for anyone having to fix that.

grayorca In reply to SergeanTrooper [2012-10-28 21:24:04 +0000 UTC]

Thanks.

Indeed. That repair job could easily turn out like the final scene in "Jaws 3", only it'd actually be scary.
