So then this showed up at the barn. All seventeen hands of him. I was told he was an ex-racehorse, which of course immediately sent me galloping off to find my camera and take a picture of his lip tattoo.His registered name is Chivas. He's a stakes winner of $200,233 by GIII Fayette Stakes winner Whiskey Wisdom out of Regalis, a daughter of millionaire, champion and GI Queen's Plate winner Regal Intention, a son of Vice Regent. Whiskey Wisdom, by Wild Again, comes from the family of Citronnade and Twilight Meteor.

We had a 17HH Thoroughbred that came to our stable a few weeks ago. A lady that rides at my barn wanted to try him out, but when the vet came out they said he wasn't sound.
Shame, he was a sweetie.
He had just come off of the track, and looked a lot like this horse, but instead of a long frame his was more compact, and he liked to put his head up higher

Yup! We were confused because the 1 at the end of his tattoo is almost invisible now and we hadn't noticed it, so we thought his letter was the one that was faded.

Man, you lucky girl! I tried taking pics of the lip tattoo of the TB at my school with my iPhone but I can't make out a thing. x.x;

I know, right?? Unfortunately the lip tattoos suck a lot of the time but they can eventually be deciphered.
I haven't been on him yet, as he's spent the past six or seven years of his life in a field, has no manners and needs quite a bit of training before coach'll let any of the students on him (except the girl in the picture, who is fearless). I've seen him ridden twice, though, and he moves beautifully for a behemoth. I can't wait for him to join the school.
