Nice concept. Nicely executed. And good composition - it leads us through the image from one face to the next

Well, this one was obviously tricky, because I had to take the picture but not be seen in the mirror... You can imagine what kind of posture I had to take to be able to achieve this... I'm not truly satisfied by the backgroung though But I couldn't cover it up, the light came from the window...

average-jeau In reply to greenandyellow [2007-09-15 04:13:53 +0000 UTC]

Photographers often need to go to extremes to get a shot. That's how ya tell the great ones from the mediocre ones.
And you're being too hard on yourself--that light from the window doesn't detract from the image. Good to see the perfectionist in you coming out, tho.

Very creative use of the mirrors! Nicely composed as well.
for originality!

Suggestion + tip: May I suggest accentuating the frame by adding a thin grey line around the photo? The frame tends to blend a bit with the dark parts of the photo, which also occurs in "Lust". Talking about frames, only frame the picture after you've sharpened it. This will prevent the brightened edges in places where grey parts of the photo meet the black frame.

greenandyellow In reply to MarkdV [2007-09-01 07:48:56 +0000 UTC]

Thank you very much for the favourite It's good to see you're back !
I see what you mean wabout the frame, I'll try adding in a grey line, I do it sometimes, but I didn't think of it here
I always sharpen the image before adding the frame though.

Thank you ! It's hard to be original with something that has been done so many times... So I decided to use the stereotypes, but to use them differently : two mirrors instead of one !
