Yes the cut of the rose is extremely frustrating, but as I was holding it in my hand I was having trouble paying attention to everything ...

It's interesting... To me, it portrays both sides of Valentine's Day: the view from the singles and the view from the couples.
As a single person, I kinda see it as a rose, beautiful, unreachable by the person truly waiting for it. :b
But a person with a significant other might see it as a nice picture with a beautiful rose and a beautiful woman in the background.
(By the way, I read your description as "The model is my wonderful sister, *see kitty* KITTY!"
