April 29, 2007Ball point pen.
This piece took a staggering 9 months to concieve.
It started as an interpretation of a study Sigmund Freud made in women suffering "penis envy" and how child birth can cure it.
Over time, the meaning changed and i portrayed myself as the child in the picture, burdening my loved ones and causing nothing but pain to all. I have since gotten over that paranoid notion and saw it as just me being overtly analytical of myself and others. This serves as my journal for those 9 months.
The painting is now hanging over my bed, right where i can see it.

I realize I'm a little late saying this, but thank you! Finally, someone on dA has made a quality art-piece where the subject is a penis. Usually, "true" artists shy away from that subject matter, considering how many people decide to take a pic of their dick with a cellphone and post it here just to see if anyone will compliment it. You, sir, have restored my faith in freedom of expression.

I immediately thought of both David Cronenberg and H.R. Geiger when I first saw this; it's very creepy, but I absolutely love your mark-making with the pen... very graphic. You did an amazing job... and I don't know what else there is to say.

Childbirth cures penis envy? I do not necessarily believe with that along with most Freudian theories...though this piece is still incredible. The details are utterly superb in the manner of which they stun the viewer and twist their stomach. I have not had my ovaries punched here in a long time. This has indeed punched them. I thank you, I thank your parents...I thank that weird uncle of yours(come on, dear...you know who I am talking about). I cannot believe I did not come here sooner(the age of this account means nothing). Gorgeous picture. The concept is highly visible and very thick like that hefty penis baby coming out of her vajo.

When I first saw this, I thought about the way men might envy a woman's ability to carry and give birth to a child. A sort of Prometheus/ Dr. Frankenstein complex.

Awesome, mate. That's always been a concept that intrigued me. I think it's great to see it made into visual art, even as the meaning changed, and you really executed it with a lot of skill. Also, the fact that it's in ballpoint really adds a contemporary charm to it.
