January 2010, done in photoshop.Sonic used to be cool, but it's time Sega admitted it: he's washed up. What happened to the COOL Sonic I knew? What happened to the Sonic that'd blast The Offsprings from his Jeep's stereo after surfing a tasty wave, then pound back several cans of Mountain Dew cuz it's so RAD? What happened to the BLAST PROCESSING!?"
It's all gone. They shoulda stopped after "Sonic & Knuckles". All of the Sonic games after those sucked balls, and his 90's rad attitude is ruined thanks to a fuck ton of stupid sidekicks, lousy anime shit, and needlessly complicated story elements for something that boils down to 'Sonic running from point A and planting his foot in Robotnik's ass at point B'. That, and all the weirdy-beardy sick fucks on the internet that make fanfic crap and sexualized drawings of Sonic and crew that find a perfect harmony between gross and retarded.
Man, Mario never had this crap happen to him. He knew how to keep it together over the years. And HE went back to 2d side-scrolling fun when the 3d stuff became a bit lame.

Why does everyone who agree with this have a Mario or a Nintendo profile pic? this just shows the Nintendo Idolatrizing Circlejerk, even if Nintendo isnt even that great of a company, or that most of their games (2010 - onwards) had declyine worse than SonicΒ΄s did during the same era (alto i did like Smash Ultimate, Mario Maker 2 & Mario Kart 8), or that their buisness practices are equally as bad as Bethesda, Activision or even EA at itΒ΄s worst... After Sonic & Knuckles there were some good games so you're wrong... It's from Sonic 2006, Sonic screwed up but after many years SEGA fans basically Christian Whitehead saved Sonic and SEGA when he saw the pity how SEGA still didn't happen (what I thought)

Personally, Sonic '06 was when it REALLY started to go downhill, but the games before it were great. Not exactly the best, but not exactly all bad either. Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 did better on the GameCube than the Dreamcast, and Sonic Heroes REALLY got me hooked on the franchise's appeal.
I tried Sonic 3 & Sonic and Knuckles before the GameCube was even around, but as I was growing up in the 90s, those games didn't really appeal that much, especially since my brain at the time had a rather slow learning process, and too many deaths later, I gave up on those games. The GameCube was the reason I became Sonic fan in the first place, as I wasn't really into the old-fashioned fast-paced 2D-sidescrolling action that the Genesis Sonic games had.
Slow learning brain+anger issues+lost time+inability to undo mistakes=ragequit.
Sonic isn't perfect, and neither is Mario, but they're not exactly total losers, either. Besides, other franchises and companies even made an attempt to copy Nintendo's long running gaming themes; SEGA's not the only one guilty of this trope; there have been other copycats in the past.
Times change, so gaming companies have to adapt the best they know how, and I know Nintendo had a few flops in the past; Super Mario Sunshine wasn't exactly all that appealing, and neither were at least 25% of their overall 1st-party titles throughout all of their consoles. And yet I've still been a Sonic fan & a Mario Fan to this day. None of you haters can make me believe otherwise.

*Ejem* Mario had a unescesary complicated storys about him trying to clean an island because Bowser's newborn son had painted it, and tried to kidnapp peach until he succsesfully did and then flooded the city and some other stuff happen or the time he got invited at a festival that happens every 100 years so peach gets kidnapped by Bowser and then he had to go to the center of the universe thanks to a emo-looking princess from spce that parents some star people because some childhood dreams or something and collect stars & grand stars that where made out of star bits that fall over every 100 years that Toads collected, oh and that none of that ever happened, sound similar huh? or what about the unecesary characters like Waluigi, Daisy, Toadette that serve just to play sports, Mario's partners that after their 5 Minutes of fame appear in a few spinoffs (or not even that) just to vanish like Rosalina, FLUDD, Cappy & Tiara or Pink Gold Peach? or the New Super Mario games boiling down to the exact same thing? and finally, how can you explain the millions of Fetish art pieces relating to guys turning into Big Dick Muscleman Bowsers or Sexy Turtles or being eaten by Bowser THAT THERE'S IN THIS SITE ALONE, SHOWING THAT MARIO'S FANDOM IS ACTUALLY WORSE THAN SONIC'S!

Honestly Sonic was still cool even in the 2000's, Honestly i preffer storydriven Sonic, It was so cool and interesting, it´s just these annoying nostalgiatards⦠who want Sonic to be what he wasnt.

ah come on.... sonic is not that bad. i love evry sonic game (well exept from sonic r). sonic is awesome classic and modern. i prefer modern cause i can go in evry direction and not just left to right. i love the voice there awesome, the music made by cruch40 are wonderfull, the plot of eggman are great.(in adventure 2 when he menace sonic to kill amy and trick him into a explosive captsul was one of the great momment from eggman and one of is more evil twist ever) so yeah modern sonic ARE nice. i love sonic and will always... i take this very deeply cause that little blue hedgehog actually save my life when i was in elementry school whit all my depression... when i felt sad or depress i put adventure 2 battle and play sonic level and when i heard the song it does'nt matter it always bring me back a smile. sonic is a hero in classic moder game and even in real life.
