What is the gasp for? Is it the fact that it isn't actually vector art but I submitted it as such or the programs used to make it, one of which isn't at all suited to vector art and one of which isn't ideal or just out of liking for it? I don't know why the gasp...

The best explanation I've heard for the ship is that Maleficent isn't actually a fairy but a trans-dimensional being that comes from a dimension where time is different from Aurora's. That leaves a lot of problems also as she's still trying to kill her at the beginning and then decides to keep her boyfriend locked away in her dimension whilst Aurora doesn't age and then releasing him just out of spite. People don't do that to people that they love and if Maleficent is truly that cruel than there isn't enough similarity between people from her dimension for compatibility.
