me likes the ways you draws metals 
his (not ours) left boot looks a bit unfinished. as for the background, it goes great with the rest. ideea e ca tu nu folosesti culori stridente (well, usually speaking) iar aici predomina tonurile de maro, with the green and the red to make it livelier. ma gandesc ca un backgound mai detaliat sau colorat mai altfel would have been a distraction. also, i like the fcat that it's not gray. gray is a such a dull color...

Cizmele arata probabil neterminate din cauza ca dupa ce le-am tratat la fel ca restu desenului, am decis ca piticu nu poate fi asa curat dupa ce s-o batut probabil prin noroi, si le-am mazgalit cu marou ala deschis. Rezultatu nu-i chiar.. realist, da imi place. I likes me some unfinished "artsy" bits.
Culmea ii ca si Tools of the trade ii la fel de mult "stilu meu" ca si asta. Atata ca nu am mai pus pe devart desene de alea, da am facut foarte foarte multe asa cand lucram la editura. It's all about the time I put into them. Si despre care imi place mai mult.. well no need to explain, huh?
And yeah, it's generally a bad idea to use gray background when you already have a lot of gray armor in the drawing

I think the background is fine - you don't want (or need) anything really detailed what with the amount of detail in the figure, otherwise it's detracting. Lovely colouring job - particularly like the shines on the chainmail and metals

wow, really nice. I'm really struggling to paint something with my tablet and it's this kind of coloring that poses the problem.
The background is really good too. It's complete and it fits the drawing, complements the dwarf very well. I really like that you painted a big stone wall behind him, and the shading and texturing of it is superb. So, yes, in this case less is more. But that's not always the case.
When i saw the thumbnail in my message-board, i said "damn, better check that out!"

No, you spelled it right
Well first, I must say I don't know anything about the legend first-hand, so everything I tell you is from websites (and hopefully books, later on). The article about solomonari in the Romanian Wikipedia doesn't say they're good OR evil. It appears they can act as both. As they can control clouds and rain, sometimes they'll bring rain in droughts, other times they'll punish people if they act unkind to them. Details later when I can verify all this from a reliable source

Yeah well don't expect things to be black and white in mythology. There are quite a lot of beings that act benevolent or not according to how you treat them. And I actually like this! It allows for stories that are much more interesting (I believe?)
