Description Baked this cake yesterday (simple vanilla) and filled it (lemon curd) and frosted it (vanilla buttercream, covered with fondant) today. It was my first time ever working with fondant. It was easter to work with than I thought! I just need to learn how to finish the drapery corners better...

fondant is a pain in the ass for me. Probably due to my inability to make smooth cakes. Also, after spending an hour trying to MAKE the fondant, my patience wears a bit thin and I have to take a moment to weep.

is it really easy? did you need to go to baking class to use one?

well I took 2 baking classes in culinary school so I knew how to layer the cake and smooth it out with buttercream... the only thing I had never worked with before was the fondant. So yeah, classes would be a good start!
