Description
Finally decided to CG this one after a long hiatus. Originally meant as a redesign of the 1980's DC Comics character "Amethyst", after the sketch was completed, I decided to go with just creating a completely original storyline using this character. Though I did retain one element of the Amethyst premise. The original sketch can still be viewed in the SCRAPS section.

General plot:

The story takes a partial Cinderella-like twist, in that Amelia is the daughter, and only surviving blood heir of her family, with a stepmother and two stepsisters.

Set in a feudal techno-magical society, Amelia's father was a mid-level Lord who lost his wife to complications of giving birth to his only offspring. Now seventeen, Amelia has now lost her father as well, mere days before her 17th birthday under suspicious circumstances. And it has been no great secret that her stepmother, a power-hungry woman, loved the idea of power, wealth, and position more than her departed husband, now with only one more obstacle in the way of her control of the family's lands and resources...

Living in a position of responsibility in the shadow of 12 great houses, the world certainly isn't without its share of peril outside her home. Along with her regular schooling, Amelia is a trained combat mage....knowledge she will most certainly need, for what can only be a life which is far from uneventful.
