Description I'm working a lot with the Norse mythologi in my drawing, trying to do some special stuff gor the exhibiton... This is Munin, one of the norse god Odin's ravens. Odin is the god ruling over the other gods and he wanted to be wiser and therefor he asked Mimer (in Danish he is a jætte.) if he could drink of his magical whell and then be more wise. Mimer agreed to this if he could have Odins eye. So Odin cut out his eye and threw it into the whell. By doing this he wouldn't have to drink again. Now Odin knows all and he also has his two ravens Hugin and Munin who sees for him and then report everything to him. I don't rember all the things but I think that Munin means memory. Anyway it was wonderful doing this little piece. It is on a 20x20 cm canvas (yes quite small) and with acrylics. It took a few hours to do but I think that if I would do more on it it would be ruined. oh and the pattern was tricky. I like how it isn't perfect in size.. it looks well as if a viking did it perhaps... and I'll also do Hugin when I find the time.

I love it. You really should do Hugin too; they'd go together like a diptych.

what is a "diptych"? but yes I'm planning on doing Hugin too it won't feel right if I don't.

a diptych is when you put two separate pieces next to each other, or one above the other etc. and they are seen together as one piece. They are meant to be seen together instead of apart.

Oh beautiful job. I love the knots at the top! I know they are very hard to do.

I never knew all of that about Odin and the others. I feel so educated. ^^

heh I can just continue to babble about the norse mythologi but I think it was appropiate to tell the story of the figure in the picture.

yeah I'm not good at knotworks at all but they ad a viking feel to it I guess
