Interesting concept, and very crisp, precise execution. I especially like the clock face numerals in the iris. My only criticism is that I don't get a convincing sense of the clockwork gears being behind the face: in the first place, their structure appears unrelated to the surrounding facial structure (i.e. they are clearly not operating her jaw, or any other physical aspect of her face) - I understand that the clockwork is meant to be symbolic, not physical, but the lack of obvious association between the mechanism and the face makes it more difficult to see it as part of the face; in the second place, I think the shading needs to be a bit darker on the gears and the surrounding dark space to give a convincing sense of depth - as it is, they appear a bit too shallow - and it might also help to define the edges of the gap in the skin as having some thickness to add to the impression of a cut-away view. Nice work!

Thank you so much for that...seriously. Its always helpful to get a feel for what other people are seeing. I had the same thought concerning the actual connection between the face and the gearing and decided to stay with the symbolism rather than make her into some form of semi-cyborg. And I do agree with you on looking again at the shading around the cogs. Thanks again, genuinely appreciate the input.
