Hmm, there's something to think about! But I wouldn't even know where to start!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GreyScale36 In reply to lucky-louie [2012-03-27 16:01:26 +0000 UTC]

Start by gently grinding up some Carbon/Charcoal/Graphite - using an fine-grain Emery file [nail file] - & collect into small glass jars. Next, take a small paint brush - any brush will do for now whilst your practicing - & a scrap piece of drawing paper [always use the same paper you'd normally use for your actual pieces]. Gently 'coat' the brush, not too much, & begin practicing your brush strokes by building up the layers of Carbon/Charcoal/Graphite to get a feel on how the medium moves & blends on the surface you're working on

Why has it taken me so long to add this beauty to my faves?
It's wonderful

Just out of curiosity, what is the whiteish line along the cheek?
Hope you don't mind me asking

GreyScale36 In reply to AngelasPortraits [2012-03-26 13:27:36 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for adding this particular piece as a favourite of yours, Angela! I truly appreciate it

The White line you see along my niece's cheek, is a streak of sunlight cutting through some trees [I took the reference photo last Summer whilst taking her for a walk to visit her gran].
