I always been curious how do you do hair like that or fur. Where the inner parts are darker than the out or top layers. I just curious because I want to do a wolf but I don't know where to to start, drawing media doesn't allow you to apply lighter colours you got to imply it through avoiding the area, so I think. Well let me know if you have the time. But if you know a book that would help illustrate that particular layering technique even better.

Draw the mid tones and then draw in some darker tones then blend lightly together, repeat as needed, blending only the mid tones, build up the darker tones untill they are as dark as you like. , I use the kneaded eraser to lighten areas also. To make the hair look realistic you need to always draw in the direction that hair grows. I have a tiny hair video in my scraps folder. ~Linda
