Mia used to known as Mark Patcher, a Undercover CIA Assassin tasked with infiltrating one of the Cults of Cthulhu and assassinating Garth. however what happened was that Mark got a bit sloppy with keeping his stories straight and when his stories didn't add up, Garth found out he was a CIA Assassin. Garth, finding this unacceptable, wouldn't allow his family or friends to be hurt by anyone, not even a highly trained assassin. so upon capturing Mark, Garth transformed him into Mia, the prize cow and personal Milkmaid of Garth.
Unlike those who have suffered similar fates at the hands of Garth, Mia's past memories have been completely wiped out and no trace of it remains or is even altered, instead she simply assumes she has been serving Garth her entire life.
