A Christmas Wish , this one for =Nirelleth .

I broke my brain and my hand making this.

BUT... this is possibly my MOST FAVORITE WORK EVER.

It was going to be simple - the girl holding out her hand for a butterfly or something like that. Then I wanted something bigger (after I had finished drawing the girl), and Nirelleth said she'd like a snow leopard. It wasn't until I began working on everything other than the girl that I remembered... snow leopards have SPOTS! And not just any spots, the kind that are like rings.

Fun?

After I finished the girl (where I should have just stopped), I did the background, including the snow on the rocks (which was fun). Then I almost quit when I went to do the snow leopard. The sketch for the snow leopard was the most difficult part of making this - must have scraped several versions before going with this one.

Anyway... I think this is the longest I've spent on any one piece, around 3-4 hours. When an idea really gets into my blood, I have to keep going until I finish. So... except for one or two breaks, this was all one, long, continuous project that actually gave me somewhat of a headache

Looking at this, I keep thinking of scenes from the movie I was half-watching with my family... G.I. Joe. Wonderful. That movie fits this so wonderfully, doesn't it? Also MIB part 2... which was just finishing up after we got out of our PPV recording of GI Joe. Both movies describe this perfectly. Wonderful mood in the background.

Anyways...
