Description
I carved the seal out of a tea light candle, molded it in silicone and cast it in resin. I also have four crystals, two "Light Eco", two "Dark Eco" that I'll be putting on either side of the finished pendant. The resin cast white, so in this version I painted it to look like precursor metal and aged the crevices with fake dirt. I've since acquired some red resin dye so that I can cast them in the original red. The silicone mold didn't take as much of the detail of the master in some areas on this version, so I've still got at least two more remolds ahead as I deepen the grooves, sand and polish, and then mold the polished version for final casting.This picture best displays the way it is ruddy metallic pink in the shade and nearly gold in the light. I love painting precursor metal. Its an absolute joy.
When this is finished, I'm going to sell plain red seals for $15, pendants and keychains for $20,and full necklaces with crystals for $35.
Should I offer some in precursor-metal colors too for another $5? Just in case people want the pretty metallics?
