this is too cute! I actually am terrified of most spiders. like, clinically, comically, completely terrified. But for some reason, I'm not of jumpers. I think they're adorable! There is a species of jumping spider avalible to keep in terrarium. Phidippus regius. They grow to almost 2 centimeteres long, and so, are much more spectacular, not so tiny like these native europaean.

In Norway I don't know. In Poland I bought 6 of them from someone, who succed to breed them and later when they had their own babies I sold over 70 of their offspring to other people. So you must search for someone who breeds them, the best chances are possibly by internet.

I have tried but it doesnt seem like they have any breeder easily accessible here yet >.< I did read that the species you mentioned has a green light in norway, but didnt find any info on how to get one D: I dont know how safe it is to ship them around for long distances.

In summer I believe long distance shipping is safe. They are spiders, 3 weeks without food is not a big problem for them. But as they are native to Florida, they don't like cold weather.

Well, they are smaller than Theraphosidae, more common in terrariums, but are still among the most colorfull spiders, and certianly are much more environment avare and much more inteligent than Theraphosids. Theraphosids, are amost blind and detect only substrate vibrations, which helps them localise their prey. Jumping spiders see very well, and they observe you as much as you observe them. Well, They behave rather like very small cats than spiders. And also jumping spiders are unrivalled masters of hunting. I have a very elegant red crab spider I found in my kitchen that I call Lady Red xD She eats the nats and flies in our kitchen and sometimes some moths that i catch for her. Even found some sugar ants in her web. Now she's my pet and I plan on getting her a good home eventually c':

Ah well i recently found out that Red Crab Spiders are in Texas xD!! I fell in love with them c': They're so pretty. I want to get her some white flowers(probably gonna be fake so they don't die) and decorate her home to make it more to her liking. Then she can make her web much better. I'll continue to feed her myself though.

I love jumping spiders and have held several. I've been bitten a few times... It's really unpleasant, but broke skin only once, I think.

I do have a lot of them in my house. Generally they live around the borders of our windows. When you approach your face to them, they just stop and stare at you, and if you put your finger near them they just stand on their back legs, their front legs up in the air.
I've never seen such cute spiders species.
