This one's been a long time coming, and even more pertinent and breathy-down-me-neck-like since I joined (not to mention it got put on hold halfway through the colouring stage so I could get my pirate ninja mech raptor competition entry sorted on time) ... yeah, I've had a Death fanart piece ([link] ) up for a while, but it's old and I've improved a scary fast amount since then, so I figured it was time for a fresh one. And boy, talk about delivering this time ...

Yeah, this is SO MUCH better than the old one, especially since going all digital means I've been able to really capture the intense DARKNESS of her wardrobe while still keeping an edge of fun that so sums our girl up. Yeah, it's obvious, I'm still head over heels in love with this character ... and I reckon I always will be - she's not the kinda character it's possible to forget. Even if I wanted to ... I tried a few little experiments this time around, specifically working on a kind of lineart-negative effect so I could fill in the black areas PROPER BLACK rather than plumbing for some super-dark grey or blue ... and I really like this effect, it's got a kinda cute arty charm to it. Reckon I might be turn this one into a bona fide trademark sometime ...

Anyway, this is PROPABLY gonna signal a kinda renaissance amongst my fanart, certainly with the OLD stuff - I'm DEFINITELY gonna do new takes on Catwoman and Black Canary, and might rework my old Blade Runner stuff too ... watch this space, and remember, this is where it started ...
