Ahead of my intended "resurrection" of my old Marvel mutant characters (see my new journal entry: [link] ), I thought I might work on one or more pieces of fanart of some of my fave X-Men and related mutants ...

So first up, there's the super hot "Surge", aka Noriko "Nori" Ashida, one of the new generation of the X-Men and a fantastic character. She's a bit Magneto, except that instead of metal she controls electricity, and she can also absorb electricity and then unleash it too. Those funky gauntlets of hers aren't actually weapons, they were designed by Beast (Hank McCoy) to help her keep her powers in check since they can be dangerously unstable much of the time. Okay, I admit it, the main reason I like her is she's a Japanese hotty, but she's pretty cool too. And I really enjoyed drawing her.

To those who might get picky, this is NOT her uniform, this is just her casual wear mixed with elements of her costume. I MIGHT do a piece of her sometime in full uniform, but I was in a more casual mood this time. If/when I do more we'll have to see ...
