I love the way Linux does things as opposed to Windows, from software management, to the GUI, to the terminal (optional, you don't have to use it), all piss easy to use. And no need to buy 3rd party software to customize your desktop, atleast with KDE, you can customize the crap out of it from right from within KDE itself. You don't need to defragment your HDD either, and Linux has no registry, another plus.

Actually, it is really a pain not being able to use some things that are just compatible with Windows and Mac... but what I personally have against Windows is just the lack of customization ability.

lack of customization??? i have no idea what you're talking about. i could make(and have made) my computer ui look like what ever i want. there is no lack of customization on windows. to be honest, i can customize it slightly more than i can ubuntu.

Tried it. ObjectDock freezes up and RocketDock doesn't even look good really. You can alter the look of windows to an extent, but it doesn't come anywhere close to Ubuntu.
Have you even ever used Ubuntu? I'm starting to doubt whether you have.
No reason to get all defensive about it. Personally I like both Windows and Ubuntu. Both have their pros and cons.

you obviously didn't try window blinds, theme manager, icon packager, curserfx,and virtual desktops. object dock is terrible because of freezing, and you need to reskin rocket dock for it to look good.

as for ubuntu, u dual boot with 10.10 and have compiz fusion almost fully working(fire is missing)

before you assume i am pointing to inferior programs, try READING the rest of the site info on the product. i linked you to a suit that allows you to completely change the windows ui.

Also, you even have to pay for crap like WindowBlinds. Not to mention that Windows needs anti-virus protection and makes you pay two-hundred just for Microsoft Office. I'd rather a corporation not force me to pay out the wazoo.

who uses ms office anymore? google docs and open office are just as good. and the suit is only $20, and uses barely any resources. window blinds espesualy. If it bogged everything down, i think i would know. i have a single core celleron processor as 2.2ghz, and i have never had any lag from it. i don't use docks on windows anymore. i just pinned the programs to my start menu. you also mentioned antivirus. did you ever think that the resion you don't need it for mac and linux is because noone cares enough to make one for them. one last note, customizing windows to what i want takes about 2 minutes unless i am running inventor or 3dsmax in the background. then it takes 3 minutes.

Honestly dude, I'm aware you can customize Windows to look good; I've seen friends do it. But it's just easier on Ubuntu to get a customization working that won't freeze up or bog everything down and actually looks natural. Plus I've wasted hours and hours trying to customize Windows when I could have gotten the same look on Ubuntu in a few mintues. For me at least - maybe not for you. Maybe I just suck with Windows, who knows.

No you don't suck at Windows. Windows is a painfully insuperior product to a Linux distribution like Debian, Slackware or Ubuntu.

Frankly, all current operating systems are just children to a much greater source that is UNIX. They all ride on the shoulders of giants and grant it no credit.
