This is Zoe, she must be 3 years old... and plays football like a pro! You can see her waiting for the forwards to come. She'll eventually steal them the ball and score for her team.

Every new year in my hometown there's a tradition that we all build this giant figures (like monuments) made of wood, with fireworks inside, to burn them at midnight. It's pretty much like the valencian falles, except that there's hundreds of them, in every neighbourhood, all around the city. It's not only a great spectacle, but an opportunity to meet your neighbours and spend some time together (during the burning and also when constructing it; every figure takes like 10 to 15 days of non-stop working).

Unfortunately, nowadays kids are more interested in playing videogames than spending days and nights outside their houses. So it seems like this is going to disappear in some time. But me and my friends are encouraging them to at least be there. Maybe in some years they'll get the feeling and the relevance of mantaining the tradition, and continue with the legacy when we get older.

A couple of days ago we had a blast: a lot of kids came in and, as this is a quiet and secure place, we spent a lot of time playing with them on the street.

I'll post pics of our figure on january. Meanwhile you can see that block of wood as a background in some of my pics. That's the future figure. next week is going to be a work of art.
