Hurray! Finally done!My favorite time of the day is dusk and so I wanted to do a picture featuring the many shadows and the low level of lighting mixed with the intensity of the sun setting. I also was very much inspired by the background art of Hanasaku Iroha (favorite anime this season!) which gave me the urge to create a background like this.
As with all new images I create, I like to try new things. With this image I got to experiment with buildings in the background and distant city lights seen from a rural area closer to nightfall for the first time. I also got to practice trees near and far and how light and reflections plays off the surface of water. I definitely need to practice scenes like this more but I think I'm making some progress.

Yup. Inspiration came from the scene where Ohana was thinking about how the trail of lights came on in the wooded area during the explanation of the Bonbori Festival. I always like that scene. You can't really see it, but the red haired girl is covering up the trail of lanterns lead to the torii gates.
