Steampunk...sortaThe field was green, the sky was mostly clear and the wind was light. The Balloon Captain was of the opinion that today would be a great day to to drift along the skyway.
Now he just needed to find a suitable companion.
The Countess came around the rattan gondola and slid her hand under his arm. “Would you happen to be flying today, good Sir” she asked.
“Why yes ma'am, yes I am.”
"Most excellent, I have flow twice before. But, I'm afraid that I failed to get sufficient altitude on either trip.”
“Sufficient altitude, ma'am” he raised a quizzical eyebrow.
“Oh yes, Capitan, on my last two voyages I did not quite make it into the Mile High Club” she explained. “Would you be willing to assist me in correcting that?”
He suppressed a moments laughter at her expense. “I'm afraid, dear Lady that that you might not understand the full implications of that particular phase...
"How, I know exactly what it means" she countered. "I've been waiting for you."
It would be a good day to fly after all.
