Description Major Anatoly Brekhov,
Monster Hunter, circa; 1967

It is believed that Major Anatoly Brekhov identified and destroyed a KGB sanctioned vampire nest in Moscow from 1965 - 1970. These vampires had apparently been engaged by the KGB as “kites” for covert operations. “Kites” were contract operatives with no official standing, after use or if something went wrong the “string was cut.” It was said that these vampires were allowed to feed in designated areas and as long as no notable citizens were attacked, they were allowed free reign within Moscow and the surrounding regions. Once it was determined that Major Brekhov was hunting the vampires, the KGB attempted to exert its influence by having his investigations stopped or reassigning him to other areas. Regardless, vampires continued to be killed until that entire line were all deceased.

The KGB was not happy with Anatoly's actions and the loss of their intelligence assets. There were several “low impact” attempts on his life, all of which failed. They could take no direct action as he enjoyed the patronage of the Soviet Army Command and at least one Supreme Soviet executive committee minister. It is also believed by many that Anatoly Brekhov may have befriended a Sirin during his early adventures and that she had advised and watched over him during the subsequent years. Such a formidable ally would explain Anatoly's ability to navigate the complex social-political system of the soviet government during those days. It was rather impressive for a field soldier and son of a common bricklayer.

No official records exist concerning Major Brekhov's supernatural exploits, as all those records were sealed at the time and are believed to have been destroyed of by hardline Communist Party officials after the fall of the Soviet Union.
