Description

(While Iravat was created as a Creepypasta OC, he can easily be a fandomless OC.)

Updated version of this one:

Real Name: Iravat (ee-rah-vat)

Alias: Rogue Naga

Meaning to Name: (definition of 'Iravat' in trivia) He's called Rogue Naga because he goes against the typical nature of what is expected of Naga, being extremely malevolent constantly to all human instead of to only those who have hurt him personally.

Nicknames: Ira (by Mo) - which is ironic because 'ira' in Latin means 'anger', and Iravat has Intermittent explosive disorder (see Disorders)

Sex: Male

Species: Burmese Python based Naga;
(to those who don't know, a Naga (or if female, Nagi or Nagini coughharrypottercough), is a snake-like spirit from Hinduism and Buddhism who is able to shift between a full or combined features of humans and snakes in various ways. Being nature spirits, not only are some worshiped as deities, but they're associated with and protectors of water, rivers, lakes, seas and wells, bringing rain, thus fertility and prosperity to nature. They're also guardians of treasure for some reason. However, they are also able to cause natural disasters such as floods and drought or be malevolent to humans, although only if they have been mistreated. They also tend to be curious, and because of this, as well as living in seclusion in nature, they tend to be susceptible to mankind's disrespect of the environment.)

Age
: Unknown, looks mid 20s

Languages: Various Indian languages and English (taught by Mo)

Voice: youtu.be/jy1EWSLgfsY

Current Residence: Stays on the move

Status: Active

AllianceImogen Mitchell the Wolf Maiden

Weapons:  Fangs, claws, tail

Method of Killing:
He usually targets those close to death who have abused animals or nature intentionally, be they uncaring business men, or a kid who hurt its cat intentionally, somebody like that (unintentionally hurting nature such as stepping on grass doesn't count unless you were malicious about it). The way he can know who to target is because he can 'feel' nature's pain, and those who caused the most pain can be pinpointed easily, although if Ira is nearby to someone who is about to die and was abusive to nature/animals, he can track them down.

He'll approach his target in his human form, and depending on his target he'll either sneak into his target's area or find a reason to visit them casually. He'll start by asking questions on how they've treated others, animals and nature, then whether or not they regret it, then ask why they do or don't regret it. If a person regrets it and says they wouldn't do it again, then Ira will leave them alone have saying his 'good' phrase.

However, if they don't regret being abusive to animals/nature, or show no care, then he will turn into his Naga form, and manifesting a glowing heart in his right hand, representing the target's own heart. Then he'll list every single abusive thing they've done to an animal or to nature, making a cut on the heart each time. With each cut the heart becomes murkier looking, and the target will be in excruciating pain, feeling what pain they committed onto animals/nature. Finishing listing off their crimes, Ira will unhinge his jaw (as shown in the image), say his 'bad' phrase, and eat the murky coloured heart. This will cause the target excruciating pain, but they will not be able to express it, only choking on their pain before dying. When diagnosed for why they died, it will just show up as having died from whatever they were dying from in the first place, be it natural or illness related, not coming up as a heart attack or something like that.

Goal/Reason to Kill:
He believes that mother nature is sacred, so anybody that hurts her without care, intentionally, should be punished (hence why he hates humans so much), and therefore wishes to cause immense pain to whoever abused nature/animals.

Phrases:
"You're not so bad." (Good phrase), "Your heart is too heavy with sin to be saved." (Bad phrase)

Hobbies:
reading books, spending times with animals or non-human/humanoid creatures, playing board games with Imogen when he can, drawing

Likes: Books (especially educational ones), board games/card games, hunting at night, meat, animals, huge spaces of nature, beer (oddly enough), very hot weathers, blood, climbing trees, Halloween (because it gives him a reason to scare others)

Dislikes: TV, cars, his naga vision, eating animal meats, the ‘civilised’ human beings (living in cities or those sorts of areas), big noisy cities, raw vegetables, ice cold drinks, cold weathers, the smell of pollution, people trying to touch him, Winter (because he hates the cold)

Personality
Ira has always been a sarcastic guy, most of his speech being sarcastic, even when it's really not necessary, which can confuse people on whether or not he's being sarcastic. He tends to mock and humiliate others on a daily basis, especially if they're humans, not holding back on being a jerk or being painfully honest about his opinions on something or others, even mocking them on something a person may be sensitive about. He's informative about nature, animals and those kinds of things, able to speak in detail about the structure of a plant, rare animals, bacteria etc (although he may not know the word in English or the technical term everybody else knows). He's manipulative towards others when he wants to be, being able to guilt trip others to make them do things for him, or make them tell things about themselves to him by sweet talking them, which he can do because he's also pretty good at pretending to be a sweet guy.
While he's a mythical asshole, a redeeming trait of his is that he's curious; he loves learning about literally anything, be it cultures, animals, arts, sciences and even different points of views (although he'll probably mock them if he doesn't like them). Another redeeming trait is that he's a huge animal/nature lover, and knows exactly how to treat each animal in the best way possible, and will do it too if an animal needs help.

While all these negative traits are actually advantageous to him, these are not:
Because of his species and his backstory, his hatred for humans makes him very prejudiced towards all humans, making him very intolerant towards them.
Again because of his species' nature, he's introverted, not able to socialise for a long span of time, being in a huge group of people, or having to interact with a large number of people. He can deal with one on one interactions or with a group of maximum three other people, but he gets drained quickly through social interactions and gets moody if he doesn't have time to be alone ( or be with Mo alone) and recharge (figuratively speaking). Ira doesn't give any second chances either, so if he's holding a grudge against a person (usually because they hurt nature/animals), they will literally be on Ira's target list and have no chance to redeem themselves. Lastly, because of one of his two disorders, he gets random outbursts of irrational anger (see Disorders), usually when somebody tries touch him, even if just a friendly gesture.
At least he's not discriminatory of who he targets, since he doesn't care for ethnicity/gender/status etc.

The only person he isn't a jerk to is Mo (explained in the story). With her, he's a decent guy; usually just calm and respectful. Although when he's alone with Mo, he gets very clingy and demanding for physical contact (not sexually though, c'mon, pull yourself together), and is in a calm and peaceful state, usually being genuinely friendly. When he's in a vulnerable state, he becomes especially childlike clingy, with only Mo able to calm him down.

Relationship:
Imogen Mitchell the Wolf Maiden

Allies/Friends:
Animals, some animal based mythical creatures

Rivals/Enemies:
Humans/Humanoids in general

Appearance
Hair
:
The sides are a pale yellow, and the actual hair is yellow.

Skin:
Tanned

Eyes:
A very light baby pink colour (in his Naga form, the areas all around his eyes have dark circles/areas, showing his corruption as a Naga as well as the fact he doesn't sleep enough). As a human, he has dark blue eyes, necessary if he wants to mix in with humans as much as possible.

Height:
(human form) 6’3”/191 cm, (Naga form - length) 18'10"/576 cm which is due to his tail

Weight:
(human form) 91 kg/201 lbs, (Naga form) 227 kg/500 lbs

Outfit:
(The one in picture) As a human, he wears greyish beige trousers and a dark green loose turtleneck jumper, which is pretty thick, in order to keep him warm.

Accessories:
In his human form he doesn't have any notable accessories, but in his original form, he has this scrap of dark green fabric around his waist, tied with a beige rope; the reason he wears this is because when he's in his human form it turns into the clothing he wears (because I need a reason to not have him naked when he turns human and I refuse to make him wear something Burmese python patterned. And visual appeal reasons for myself.)

Distinguishing Features:
As a Naga, his lower body, hips down, is the tail of a Burmese python snake. In his mouth, his lateral incisors and his first premolars (bicuspid) are needle sharp fangs, he has a very long forked tongue, and where his jaw can unhinge, there's a visible 'line', like in snakes' heads. He also doesn't have a belly button in either form, so he's never topless in front of humans, even if he's on the beach (if that were ever to happen)

Disorders:

  • Night Eating Syndrome: This disorder isn't like binge eating or starving oneself. It usually develops from depression (not in Ira's case), and the sufferer of this usually feels deeply humiliated, ashamed and embarrassed of what they eat or how much they eat. Therefore they tend to eat at a lot of food at night or at other unreasonable/unusual times that aren't healthy for the body. While these people tend to be obese, in Ira's case it's very specific because he goes against his own carnivore nature. While he loves meat, he desperately tries to be a vegan because he hates killing animals due to him being able to feel the pain of nature. Because of this, Ira has this disorder because he is humiliated, ashamed and embarrassed of the fact he is a carnivore by nature.

  • Intermittent explosive disorder: This disorder is basically sudden outbursts of anger or violence that are unreasonable for a situation. This disorder was caused by the reason why Ira first started hating humanity, as well as how the fact that he can ‘feel’ how nature feels when it’s being destroyed really affects him. This disorder is usually triggered when he is being aggressed by either an animal or a human (usually the latter), or when nature's pain is too much and it starts making him physically sick, getting even more defensive and afraid of body contact than usual. Only Mo can calm him down and that’s by cuddling him and stroking his hair; which only he allows Mo to do. Mo’s the only who can touch him without him lashing out.

Abilities/Strengths
Vision:
Infrared vision during the day (Naga form only), night vision during the night (Naga form only)
Snake quirks:
Able to taste the air with his tongue | snake body is pure muscle and incredibly powerful, so he can climb, crush and constrict with it
Naga specific (all Naga have these):
Aqua Adaptation (able to survive/live underwater, since Naga are associated with natural bodies of water) | Semi-immortality (never ages/not affected by time, but can be killed any other way, be it illness or mortal wounds) | Subterranean Adaptation (able to live/survive underground)  | While his upper body doesn't any armor protection, his snake half does, Dermal Armor made up of his scales, which cannot be wounded except by cursed blades of any kind | Seismic Sense (ability to sense and perceive vibrations in the earth) | Enhanced agility, bite capacity/elastic jaw, lung capacity (for living underwater), smell, strength | prehensile tongue (he can hold things with his tongue) | Stealth tactics (while he's flashy, he can use the darkness to approach his targets or make them paranoid/make inaudible movements/enhanced hiding) | Slithering (he can slide up walls/ceilings/floors at a great speed, wriggle through pretty tight spaces for his size, ) | Speed swimming (due to his association with bodies of water) | Due to being a Naga, he can cause calamities concerning nature, and while the capability of the individual Naga to cause natural disasters differ, in Ira's case, he creates excessive raining which can cause flooding. However since it hurts nature, he doesn't like to do this (and he's not nice enough to do it for humans who actually need water so he basically never uses this)
'Final Judgment': (see Method of Killing)
He can use this ability because of his connection with nature, as well as being seen as a spiritual being, therefore able to touch into a person's spiritual/immaterial aspect of their being, which is basically their soul, but could also be considered as natural energy/chakra by some religions. This is why he can use this ability. (Please keep in mind that this is not canon to the Naga abilities, so don't expect to find this ability listed on any website about Naga/Mythical creatures)

Weaknesses/Faults:
Vision mishaps:
His infrared/night vision means that he doesn’t see the world like a normal human so can’t see colours, so if somebody or something comes at him at great speed, it will startle him and disorientate him (unless he's in his human form, then he can see normally).
Snake mishaps:
Unlike other snakes, pythons don’t have venom so he can’t kill with poison from his fangs (which pythons don’t actually have but he does because he's a Naga), and even as a Naga that's a huge mishap, since Naga usually have poison.
Lacking Naga abilities:
Unlike other Naga, Ira doesn't have malleable anatomy. While other Naga can pick what parts of a snake or human they want to have on choice, Ira can only be a full Naga or a full human, nothing inbetween, and can't control his size or be a full fledged python | He doesn't have the camouflage ability, and his colour pallette is flashy for a Naga | he lacks the matter ingestion ability, only able to eat edible things | he doesn't have any of the other possible variations of abilities Naga can have, so he's as basic as a Naga can be, even less.
Naga specific:
If he lives underwater for a long time, he finds it difficult to live on land again before he adapts to it once more, getting dehydrated quickly | if he goes live underground for a long time, his eyes will become sensitive to sunlight when in human form, and he will easily get burnt until he adapts to the surface again.
Fears:

  • Fear of extreme cold, ice or frost (Cryophobia) | fear of cold or cold things (Frigophobia); he is terrified of the cold/cold things, and if he's in a cold area, he will be unable to move and physical freeze due to his intolerance of the cold. If somebody so much as tries as to poke him with an ice cube, he will panic and lash out angrily; he gets very defensive and panicked. This is natural for most snakes that live in hot weathers, especially for snakes that come from India, so this is part of Ira's natural instincts.
  • Fear of being touched (Haphephobia); If somebody tries to touch him, he also reacts defensive and lash out, but he's especially scared of being touched on the arms and collar bones up, even more so the nape and neck, or if anybody is trying to get cuddly with him. He also can't stand packed areas, otherwise his senses are overwhelmed. If he's alone and vulnerable in any of these scenarios, he starts hyperventilating, panicking and won't be able to move due to his intense fear. Except with Mo. Mo is a special case.

STATS:
Intelligence: 9/10
Strength: 8/10
Speed: 7/10 (Naga form), 4/10 (human form)
Flexibility: 10/10 (Naga form), 5/10 (human form)
Endurance: 5/10
Stamina: 9/10
Balance: 10/10

Theme songs:
Set It Off - Wolf In Sheep's Clothing (Piano): youtu.be/ymvCvSNEUpQ
This refers to humanity treating nature horribly, and of how Iravat's the karma that's going to make them pay. I decided for a piano cover because I like the piano, but the lyrics of the song could also be adapted to Iravat's context.

Arijit Singh - Tum Hi Ho: youtu.be/kmwpc1RUI4Y
'Tum Hi Ho' (if you look up the lyrics in English) is about how the singer can't live without his lover, since she's become his everything and without her he's lost. This is accurate to Iravat's relatioship with Mo, since she gives him stability. (You could also consider Arijit Singh's voice to be what Iravat sounds like when he speaks in any Indian language.)

Trivia:
-His name 'Iravat' means 'rain cloud' in the Hindu religion.
-His favourite food of choice are carrots, while his least favourite food of choice is animal meat and ice cream. However, instinctively, he hates anything that isn't meat, so his favourite food instinctively is raw venison, while his least favourite food instinctively is everything else.
-His relationship with Imogen is something of a need for each other and while they haven’t established that they are ‘together’, it’s pretty obvious they are.
-His favourite game are card games, and he's been obsessed with 'Cards against Humanity' since he learnt of its existence.
-I don't think you understand how important Mo is. She's literally his anchor, he needs her to be stable and she's the only one that can relate to him and the only one that Ira can relate to. She's crucial for him to not become an angry revenge mass murderer wherever he goes.
-For Iravat, transforming from a snake into a human is painful, but because his natural state is being a Naga, turning from a human into a Naga is the equivalent to going to bed after a long day. It's a relief and blissful feeling; he's not in pain as a human, it's just the transformation into one.

Story:
Iravat was born near the now called Yamuna river in India, many centuries ago, and like many Naga, grew up completely alone since birth, although this is natural for his species. He lived peacefully, avoiding contact with other Naga and deities, liking his personal space and privacy, spending time with the animals around the river, and mainly living underwater and in the surrounding nature, loving the warmth of the water and sun. From an early age, Iravat avoided at all cost to eat meat, since he hated to bring death on innocent animals; however this strongly affected his diet, since as a snake species creature, he needs meat. Because of this, he developed what is now called Night Eating Syndrome, and he would eat things at night where nobody could see him in shame of his carnivore nature, since eating only vegetables didn't satisfy his hunger nor gave him any nutrition; due to having to stay up at night to hunt, he would often have dark circles under his eyes.
Things started to shift when humans started to create villages and cities around the river, due to its religious significance. At first, Ira didn't mind too much, mostly curious about humans, since he had never met any. However, over the years, the pollution in the river augmented, affected Ira's lifestyle, and because the surrounding nature was being destroyed to make space for more housing, Ira's home was destroyed, and he went into hiding at the source of the river, Yamunotri. The more the country developed, the less he would sleep, since the pain the excessive building and killing of animals physical pained him and made him unable to sleep. This is how he developed his Intermittent Explosive Disorder, since the pain he felt from mother nature turned into anger and hatred towards humanity; whenever nature around him was hurt, he physically felt the pain, which is what brought his Haphephobia (fear of being touched).
He stayed in his isolated state for many decades, before Mo came by his area and they met. He immediately clicked with her because he could tell she wasn't really human, and that she had gone through some things. After an explanation about who and what he was, Mo and Ira were able to relate to each other's experiences, and considering that Mo was the first humanoid being that Ira ever really got into contact with, he felt very clingy to her. Mo explained how she tended to travel around, as well as what she would do to those she targeted. Ira liked the idea, and decided to punish humanity for what they did to him and what they're doing to nature.
He now travels with Mo around the world, punishing humans who were malicious towards nature/animals.
