.....just kidding you .........don't need to google -- I've read many articles on his life & art -- just bought a new book on him the other day ---- by Wieland Schmied.....( good & inexpensive ) ........what I like about Bacon personally - is the way he devided up space - and the textures of his brushwork...his personal life is another story in it's self .

i would have known..lol...you got me...yes his expressionistic ways are really an inspiration to me as well...i too am at the early stage of my life as an artiste is influenced by Van gogh, hence I have been an ardent reader and viewer of Bacon's works...and his life, though dark is quite intriguing, at least it broke the social tabooo at those times...

...I'm always happy to know young people who are interested in such artists - ( as well as the one's mentioned in your profile .)......and most people just associate surrealism with Dali .....giraffes on fire and melting watches , etc --- which is fine - but I prefer the more subtle , understated work................... a lot of youth art seems to be VERY influenced by video games ...... or use Poser to make big breasted blonds ..( not that there's anything so wrong with that ! ) ---but it becomes overkill on sites like Renderosity ---- I'd rather look at a day-glo black lite painting of the last supper than some of that stuff ! .... ( well not really - but you get the drift -----a pleasure to see the direction you're going in ---wish it was more of a trend with others.

a sad fate the youth of today is headed...too much comsumeristic idealism, too much pop art nihilism, too much materialistic imperialistic terrorism...the true artist must be redifined...I'm one with you in your thoughts about this decadent age...i for one is an ardent inquisitor of falsehoods...it is in my belief, my part as an artist in my own small way to contribute to a greater revolution of the mind in this dark ages...I am very much aware of the tremendous degradation of the society, and the artist as a laborer syndrome...i despise such notions...Thank you for the compliments and thoughts...

...I said he 'might' have liked your popes - because I've read that Bacon was quite a contradictory character ... (and often not too complimentary towards other artists )....however - I certainly approve.
