You know, Wrex was pretty cool in ME1, but he didn't bowl me over. Then the conversations you get to have with him in ME2 were just golden, some of the best in the game. And then his character in ME3 was so much more - grander, stronger. But in this case, it actually works and is believable as character development, representing his growth from cynical merc to leader of his people over the course of three years. Thankfully, he's still funny, too

Wrex is one of the best characters in my opinion. Even in 1 he was my favorite, because though at first glance he seemed like the typical dumb, hilariously sociopathic barbarian you get in most games, he makes a lot of surprisingly insightful comments that show he's smarter and wiser than everybody thinks. The conversations around the Citadel are the best, my personal favorite being one of his comebacks to Garrus on the elevator. As much as I love Vakarian, he was naΓ―vely prejudiced in the first game, and I enjoy it immensely when Wrex utterly flattens him with a retort (this one: [link] ). I do agree he gets excellent development later, and it fits his established character. A detail that gets me is the fact that he has good spelling, while Wreav does not. Eve overshadows him a tiny bit in ME3, though.

Yeouch! I'd never seen that one before. True, Eve was a powerful character, and she was also a terrific foil for Wrex.
