Some stuff I doodled this morning during my phone lessons.I guess I felt I didn't have enough "magical girl" type characters, or guy characters without glasses.
Just really wanted to draw some sort of anime chick in a dress and then there was an ax which I don't even know what she uses it for. ',:U
Also I like snow. :0

Oh my god, Ridel this is so great! Love the expressions! <3 Maybe she uses the ax for self-defense and cutting twigs for fire-wood? I mean, she's gotta stay warm somehow! XD

I guess I didn't want to answer this until I had a better idea of what exactly she was all about, but yes! It is for defense.
(I think that other people cut her wood for her though.

In your description, you said you wanted to try a magical girl, liked giants and snow. To me, they're three seemingly random things, but you put them together well by giving it a story and a cohesive design through color and wardrobe. Without taking a art criticism class, that's all I can really say, other than 'I liked it'.
But that's not saying much since I like a lot of the stuff you put out. XD

PHH! But you see, you're a lot more varied than I am. I'm way too scared to even touch sculpting stuff, I've never finished a single plush I've started, and my experience with 3D modeling consists of goofing around with my brother on Z-brush last Friday. (We made some sort of swamp monster thing. Actually, it was a lot of fun collaborating on the design. 
Not to mention I've got this awesome bottle of ink I've used maybe once, because I'm afraid of wasting it. (Not like putting it away and never using is is a waste or anything. >__<)
Yeah, I've never had a real art class. I mean, my sister taught me how to sew by hand, and is trying to help me understand how to make patterns, so I guess that counts as a sort of class? But otherwise I've just sort of been stumbling along trying to figure things out as I go.
And yes, seven days of consistently drawing David Tennant from Doctor who promotional photos actually made a huge improvement in my art! Even if it did make me feel like a stalker.
I should really try another week of life drawings, but focusing on women, cause I don't feel as comfortable drawing female faces as male.

Ah, but quantity never makes up for quality in the long run. And quite frankly, all I've ever done in Maya is mess around too. Too much stuff for me to get to know right now. It just⦠<--- my brain there's just so much. Having two studio classes to compete for my time doesn't help either.
Lol, same here, have ink, rarely touched it. It might be bad now- does ink go bad?
I've never had any real sewing classes either, my mom taught me the basics for hand and machine, I've figured out what little else is left. I do make my own pattern if they're simple enough, or if i can cheat it somehow. I guess we can 'stumble' together? Lol
10th Doc FTW. If it helps you improve, then be a stalker! I could hardly look our male model in the eye a couple weeks ago when I had to do 30 sec and 1 min poses in class.
You could Google models, nude or otherwise. See if there's a college near you that has life drawing sessions. The club I'm in at college organizes weekly life drawing sessions from 7pm-10pm. If you're a member of the club, it's free to go in and draw. (live models are usually $9-20/hour)
