FINALLY! I've come up with a decent dark elven skin tone that doesn't make them look like a smurf or the undead!
That's probably where most of the time in coloring this went at least...gotta love experimentation. Done in painter 7

Wow, it's crazy how much darker this pic is on my PC than on my laptop. On my PC, her body was almost completely shrouded in shadow, and only her head and eyes really came out. There was an interesting elegance about that, like how you see a black cat at night with its eyes glowing. It definitely didn't seem like your usual aproach, so I had mixed feelings, but I was surprised. Now on my laptop I can make out the work you put into the rest of the body, and while the interesting dark look is missing, I like seeing everything you did with the body and colors. This is a very nice multi-layered piece, good job with it!

I like the bright blue eyes. They really jump out at the viewer.

This *isn't a criticism* but an observation, but it's very dark (on my monitor at least.) Is your monitor quite bright / do you paint in the dark? Or was it intentional? Just thought I should say something. But it's cool.
