Eddy Howard Smith - 1979 Charcoal Drawing
My brother Eddy Howard Smith drew approximately 400-500 drawing between 1979 and 1980. He changed to photography in 1980 until his death in 1982 at the age of 36. The majority of his photography has been destroyed but around 350 of his drawings remain with the family.
I will periodically post his drawings to expose his amazing talent.

This right here is true raw talent! Its amazing how people such as your brother can have so much skill in what they do! Not only dose it have to do with skill but i can tell that he had pride in his work becuase he added his own style into the drawing. I love the shading around the finger area and the hand as it has a even darker cast shadow on the backround! I am not good at still life so this helps alot! Its so amazing hte skill with each indentation in the hand mainly the palm. Your brother did fine work my friend, fine fine work!

Drawing the hand is a difficult thing to do, even for some professional artists. I've drawn a few hands in my day and I have to say, that this is far superior to my hand drawing. Wait, wait, wait. Scratch that. What I meant to say is that this is superior to all other hand drawings I've ever seen. So well done, so well shaded, not to mention how anatomically correct it is. Wow, just breath taking, absolutely fantastic work.
