It was just a temporary cage, as they were at the County Fair.  I'm sure that he/she has very luxurious digs wherever they reside!

Oh good, I've always been told that, from the Vets to the petshop associates. Just got a little worried is all. Well, it's been a long day for me. You see, my brother and his family came over for Christmas....my poor niece was so sick! Coughing her head off.   Glad to report that SHE'SSSSS doing much better now, thank you. BUT I'M SICK AS A DOG! Started late last night, would have sworn someone was squeezing my throat. Today, I feel as though I've been hit by a MAC truck! So it's back to the couch for me....and tea! Have a good one.

It's been a rough start to the new year! This is the first time, in days that I've gotten off the couch. Fever on and off and just feeling like I was hit by a Mac truck. Still have a cough but I can finally breath out of my nose! On a sad note, we lost 'Miracle'. (One of out birds.) He had hurt his foot somehow, vet said they couldn't really do much and said to just keep an eye on him that he was still eating and drinking, getting around, etc. His roommate got an attitude with him and would drop kick him ever chance she got, so we got her her own cage. He seemed to be doing ok, singing, eating, etc. and then we found him one morning, gone. So, hasn't been a good start for 2014... Here's to hoping it only gets better from here!

  Oh, that is sooo sad!!!!  Poor baby!  Roommate must have sensed that Miracle was sick.  I think sometimes they can.

I've heard that the flu is going around and that it has been bad.  I hope that isn't what you've had.  I sure do hope that things get better for ya!

Yeah I miss him! Use to give my hand kisses when I'd put my hand in the cage with seed. Never really knew how old he was, my dad found him at work. He flew into the lobby and they caught him and he brought him home. And we had him for a little over nine years. Now I keep giving Lily a lot of extra attention...I don't want her to be sad. Sometimes I'll catch her just sitting there and it just feels like she might be so I let her chew on me a bit, we sing/whistle together. lol Had the bunny out playing the other night, Lily was sitting at the edge of her cage...If I didn't know better, I'd swear she was watching her hopping around on the floor! It was cute.

Not sure it was the flu...maybe just a reallllllly nasty cold? My niece is better but she still has the annoying cough that won't quit. Makes me wonder what I'm in store for. She's had it now for about three weeks!? At least I'm no longer running a fever and I feel like the MAC truck has moved on!! lol There were a few days that I literally slept through for the most part! lol Got up, fed cats, indoor critters....took meds...out like a light. "Re-peat"!! lol Finally started feeling better, I was like... "What day is it?" lol So other than a stupid cough, I'm doing much better, thanks. OH... I didn't tell you. Oh a happier note, a gift I got over the holidays... "A New Camera"!!! *insert happy dance here* A FUJIFILM FINEPIX SL1000 (50x) <---- my other camera had 16x the zoom!? Bahahahaha I so can't wait to learn how to use this thing!! Look out kitties!! lol

Yes I was VERY happily surprised!! Didn't see that coming at all!

Well, she'll sing/talk to me, we'll go back and forth like that. I did have her eating out of my hand after we first got her, also I can hold her little bath-tub in my hand, put it inside the cage, still holding it and she'll jump right in and take a bath in my hand. But after her and Miracle got to know eachother more, she seemed happier to nibble on my hand, (and at times...NOT SO GENTLE!!) lol But she won't just jump on my finger or anything like that. Sometimes I'll put my hand in the cage...gently pet her wing or chest, she'll usually allow me to do that about once before she trys to take a finger off or flys away. lol That's about as social as she is for now. But I figure now that Miracle is gone, maybe if I work with her every day, she'll come around.

Sorry to hear that. Well hopfully something will change soon and he'll get a little better at behaving. :/ He has to.... he's just so darn cute!!! Hang in there.

Yeah, it sounds like you've already covered major ground with her, so with consistent every day work, she could come around....if your fingers hold out, that is!  Birdie beaks do NOT feel good!  They can be wicked instruments of destruction!  The critter I was most leery of when I worked for my vet was birds.  They bite like no other!!!  They don't just bite....they bite and hold on!!!!!

**sigh** Jet's cuteness is what's keeping him alive!   No, he can also be quite loving.

I'm trying and you're right, it's all a matter of IF my fingers hold out!!! lol I was giving her water yesterday from a dixie cup..... she drank. And then decided it would be much more fun to play tug-a-war with the cup!!! LOL I keep trying to work with her but she's a moody little thing sometimes! I might have to use a glove! lol But I'm really trying not to, I just want her to get use to me. Well time will tell...

THANK GOD FOR KITTY CUTENESS!!!!! Or I have a feeling that lil' stinker would be in some real deep trouble!! lol

My fear too! But I sure was in love with this little guy! I've got a friend in New Jersey who has a BIG dog and that dog just loves their bunny! Go figure!
