this is for =kitton 's contest... kind of.i mean. i've owed her peony giftart forever, so i kind of combined the giftart with a contest entry, because i'm so pressed for time (that's why there's a starguava in there, too. i'm not sure if that's allowed in the contest entry, but this was how i had planned my gift art ages ago X3 ).
i'm actually kinda chuffed with this piece. =Nicc593 heard me whinging lastnight coz my lineart wasn't working, but i think i pulled it off in the end.
background:
peony's a girly-girl so her bikini is tied up with ribbons, but one's come undone
so she's all like "oi! what do you think you're looking at? my goodies are all for guava :\ "
*ties bootay back up*
and starguava is all like "damn straight."
i'm on a bit of an orange kick at the moment. when i went up to nelson i got a cutting from this beautiful orange hibiscus plant. the flowers are the size of my hand. i just melt whenever i see them. so i hope my cuttings grow. oh, and that's why starguava has a hibiscus flower in her hair :3 i know it's cliche, but i loves them so~
oh, and i didn't go overboard with the blush effect - they're supposed to be a bit sunburnt - because i am too X3
there is no way you can be fair skinned and play in the tropical sun ALL day without getting at least a little fried :3
i think my favourite part is peony's tan line on her butt :3
and look, =kitton , i remembered her freckles!
side note:
i don't normally give character bg info, coz most people don't give a toss, but just for the record, i'm making starguava's hips bigger and her breasties smaller. bahahaha. i'm so over big breasts, and i've always loved big hips <3
i used an anime model to reference the pose for peony, but everything else i whipped up myself.

Heyo! This is a very nice piece, but you already know that. I'm just singing your praise!
I really like the colors you chose for the bathing suits and there textures. They look almost abstract in my mind, and the fact that they are wet really shows. I really like their skin tones, they blend in so well with tha bathing suits. Nothing takes away from anything else. The background is so nice. It does what it's supposed to... bolsters the characters with drawing to much attention. I guess it's so well crafted, I mean it looks just like water does, and that's probably why it doesn't get so much attention.
Your characters also stand out from the background by the way they were rendered. You probably used the same techniques you used while coloring the characters that you used coloring the bg, byt it's different somehow. Maybe they have more highlighted areas to contrast the shadows, but they just really stand out well.
Plus that texture over the whole piece is awesome. Works very well.

Yay curves and small boobs! And so what if they're cliche, hibiscus are so pretty! T__T; They're my favorite flower. I like how I could recognize that it was a hibiscus in Guava's hair right off the bat! ^ ^
The island in the BG and the cloud look so simple but complete the image very well. :3 Your style is coming along beautifully, Guava. Both ladies are lovely and upon my closer inspection, they give off different feeling personalities. * 3* Orange is nice, but your use of green and brown makes me happywoo.
PS, Peony has some hawt hair there. ;3

Both a little thin looking for me, but that no biggie, just bones visible on people kinda freaks me a little and being a cuddle lover I like girls with a bit more meat on them...But i might've said before and I sure you don't want my life story ^_^;; either way yeah big breasts are kinda overated and wide hips are pretty cool ^_^ and the orange looks great too!
