Extracted from it's actual setting, this ambigous macro-portrait leaves plenty for interpretation.

Dramatic mood permeates the balance of boldly contrasted form against negative space.

The exquisit grain adds that almost painterly sfumatto effect.

This is what happens when artistic vision goes for some antropology 101 in a photo-journalistic manner
