I'll admit right now that I'm not exited... I'm not... Mmmm... Ok, I just don't know what to feel about EqG. First, I know this is a spinoff from a show I wouldn't have dreamed watching in the first place, but here I am. Second, it doesn't feel right. Therefore the only thing left to do is give it a chance.The one thing I do know I like is Spike. It's a silly idea and it deminishes Spike character (it shows on levels of hierarchy just how below dragons are from ponies; how come Twilight becomes a rational being and Spike becomes... a dog? A pet?)- yet I can't deny I like his design.
It's simple, it's funny, and it made me smile. Who knows, maybe I'll even end up liking the movie.

Finally, the two Spikes together and liking each other. The DA works I've seen of them are of dragon Spike hating his canine counterpart with a passion (and I don't blame the poor guy). At least there is one drawing where they are friends!

I just hope they at least allow Spike to retain his ability to talk, even as a dog.

We can't tell if he will be able to talk from what we've seen so far. I think... he wont, or at least not on the beginning.

I'm glad that you're willing to give it a chance (especially since it's too early to tell how bad it would really be). And it's cute seeing the two spikes together, and actually happy to see each other.
Honestly I hate the whole idea of turning spike into a dog, though I don't think this will change a thing between him and twilight. The show shows us how close the two are, and how they're like siblings, so my theory is that a bipedal like spike turn into quadrupeds when they enter the mirror, and quadrupeds like twilight turn bipedal.
I think it would be a sort funny irony if this was true, but still kinda sad.

I don't like the idea of him being a dog either but I do like his design. And if we follow that idea of quadrupeds into bipedal and vice-versa we could have a quadruped Discord and Iron Will

Yep, I bet there will be some genuinely good, or at least funny moments in the movie.
