OMG ... I'm so jealous....it seems that your school has a lot more resources than ours and the fact that you have lecturers who are working within the industry still is just what I could do with.... I'd never even heard of Bondo...( I now have an order from the US on its way to Blighty.... fancy a student exchange...x

Aww don'T be jealous, I guess it really depends...because..he doesn't usually teach at the school it's usually another guy named Matt, but he works in the industry as well...hmm Oh did you order like...Bondo from prosaid ? Because you can make it with a prosaid glue (even if it's not a prosaid brand, just a medical adhesive) + Cab-o-sil (don,t breath it in) and it makes the paste!
Let me know when you get it I could maybe like, tell you about it if you want ? I'm not a pro but... I've been working with it a little ^^

I have no idea what I've ordered... but we do use prosaide, so can you tell me what Cab-o-sil is....and the many uses of Bondo, we only use wax, tuplast and latex for injury make-up....I'd love to see what you guys from across the pond use....x

well cabosil is like a powder I guess that you can't breath, I've heard that it's not too too expensive... I don't actually know what it is, I think it's like, what makes plastic, or like for fiberglass, I have no clue haha.
Well, we don't use wax at all. My teacher hates wax and he says they don't use wax anymore in movies, etc. So bondo replaces that, it stays on, it's really great, it doesnt like, melt or whatever. You put it on, and then you shape it with a brush or a spatula, thin the edges with water (clean your brush right awayyy) , and then blow dry it ! Then you can colour it ^^
Usually I think bondo is used as a 'filler' for hum prosthetics , to blend the edges..

That is so helpful.... it sounds like the perfect material. Not sure if I let you know but I came first in competition again, this time as team event. I have been entered into the National Finals for prosthetics and have that coming up in March....I'm so busy with my final year.... so much I want to get done.... so little time.
I'm going to get Bondo, maybe I'll teach my lecturer something..x

So I spent last weekend in the north of England. Competing in the National Finals. Our team came 3rd in the country. I also got to compete in a direct entry competition, which was a prosthetic category themed science-fiction. I went for the Cat People from Dr Who.... considering on the day it was the first time I had painted and fitted the whole piece. I was overjoyed to come 3rd. Competition was tough, and I'm glad it's over for the next 5 weeks at least as I'm now entered into the UK Skills Body Painting Competition and winners get to go to Austria to the World Body Painting championships. Although during all this I must find time to complete my make-up course.

Hmm...for a simple bruise like that you should be able to do this in like 5 min. But I'm far from that...we did this in class..I can't really remember how long it look...maybe like....15 to 20 min ? When our teacher taught us that, he just told us to do that with what we had learned with our black eyes so I didn't know if I was doing this right or not !! Buuuut....I was ! He told me that the only thing is that it was maybe a litttttle bit too dark on the top to be a fresh bruise, but other than that it was really good ! ^^
