It has been such a long time. I really just haven't had time to do anything and...well I must admit I was out of inspiration. I'm a little tired of always doing 'small' things and...always on the same model (yah, me) so it limits my imagination...Anyway. I had this idea a while ago and decided to give it a try.
I used 3d gel, liquid latex, wax, castor sealer, black thread, cream makeup, fake blood (reel blood).
No photomanipulations.

First of all, this does look pretty real. my first thought though, when opening the thumb, was "self-injury does not make you a freak, it just means you have some problems" which is in essence why I opened it.
I hope for your sake, as well as those who love you, that you don't hurt yourself. it is a hard thing for all involved to go through, and not just for the folks who are physically hurting themselves.

Thanks for saying what you used to create the wound! I find it really interesting, what people go through and use to take shots like this and it helps me learn how to better express my ideas to the lens. This looks frighteningly realistic! Excellent photo!!

And... Yeh, I have the same problem... Always small things and almost always me as a model. And I can't imagine worse model then myself, so I'm not usually happy at the results

wherre did you get the 3d gel? i use gelatin, which acts a lot like that.. but i don't have a lot left;
so if you could lemme know that'd be awesome

Hmm... I got a couple of small bottles of 3d gel around halloween time (on sale) in a drugstore... Usually they're like 6$ each and they were on for like...2$ I think...
