his eyes may be red and the feathers on his head may make him look mad, The upper eyelid makes him look very distant.

Nice pic, I love the colouration of owls. They have very creative plumage. ^^ Actually eagle owls come out during the day too, they usually hunt at dusk and dawn but they do hunt in the day if they have any energy left lol!

That EYE
I knew owls had nice eyes, but so devious I've never seen one before. And he looks so fluffy with all the details on the feathercoat

yes that sure is right..
if you have the time, take a look at my gallery, esp the deviation called "bigbird". I took that one with an old (and very cheap) Sigma tele lens. I'm pretty much satisfied with the quality regarding the price of the lens, but it clearly shows that your lens is way better. I bought this one as I didn't know if I would be using it (and quite frankly, this is the first time I really used that lens since the 4 months I had it). Maybne I'll invest in a better one one day..

This is a nice picture. Its good he's got the green of the tree as a background. Good for the contrast with his head. The owl really is beautiful. Good shot!
